In the United States, the average fee for a pet sitter is $11 to $13 an hour, as of January 2015. The actual work assigned may lessen or increase the fee.

Pet sitting involves staying with a pet, taking the pet for walks, and feeding the pet. If a person is employed just to walk the pet, the fee for a pet walker averages about $15 a pet. An alternative to pet sitting is placing a pet in a kennel, pet day care or pet hotel. The fees for these services vary from $15 to $40 a day per pet depending on what services are provided for the pet.
