How much time do American teenagers spend on computers each day?

Recent data indicates that, on average, American teens spend about 2.4 hours a day online. Further survey data suggests that teens spend as many as 7.7 hours each day consuming media.

According to a recent study by Yahoo! In collaboration with Carat Interactive, Americans teenagers and young people aged 13 to 24 spend an average of 16.7 hours online every week, excluding email time. Television time comes in second place, with an average 13.6 hours per week spent in front of the TV. Expert opinions are mixed regarding the potential positive or negative impact on teens of increased Internet exposure.
