Which muscle is most developed in cats?

The most developed muscle in cats is the masseter, which is also known as the jaw muscle. Although the hindquarters have evolved to be extraordinarily powerful to support a cat's leaping method of attack, the bite force exceeds the force applied by any other muscle.
The jaw muscles are the most developed muscles in most animals. The jaguar has the strongest bite force of any cat and is capable of biting through the shell of a turtle with ease. The tiger is the largest cat and has the second most powerful bite force. The African lion possesses the third most developed jaw muscles, and the leopard is last among the big cats.
