Who must take BSA Youth Protection training?

Boy Scouts of America Youth Protection training is a requirement for all adult BSA registered volunteers in any position. The Youth Protection training must be taken every two years.

Training happens at all levels of BSA as the organization holds it as a high value to protect the youth in their programs. Along with volunteers working directly with the youth, board members and council presidents also need to complete the training. If the application is completed and approved by the council service center, the adult applicant can interact with youth while the criminal background check is still pending. The training is available via an online module, as well as through an instructor-led program.
