What is the name of German currency?

Germany uses the Euro. It was first introduced in 1990 and followed the Deutsche Mark as the country's national currency.

Germany's first currency was called the Mark and was the only currency in the country from 1873 until 1914. It was based on the value of gold. From 1914 until 1923, the Germans used a currency known as the Papiermark. The Reichsmark then took the place of the Papiermark in 1924 and was replaced by the Deutsche Mark in 1948. The Deutsche Mark was used until 1990.

Today, the Euro is not only used in Germany but also in other European Union countries such as Austria, Greece and Ireland as well.
