How does nasal surgery improve sleep apnea?

Nasal surgery can help sleep apnea by opening up the passages in your nasal cavity allowing for air to pass through without obstruction. Even though these surgeries help in most cases, it's not a guarantee.
The two surgeries that can be performed to help sleep apnea are septoplasty and a turbinate reduction. A septoplasty is the straightening of a person's septum. This surgery is used when a person's septum is crooked and blocking the passage of air. A turbinate reduction reduces the size of turbinates which allows for more air to pass through their nasal cavity. Both of these are outpatient surgeries with very little recovery time.
