A national chairperson is the man or woman who oversees the operations and management of a national committee or organization. The members of the organization elect or appoint the chairperson to serve for a specified term.
The primary duty of a national chairperson is to manage the operations of the organization and to provide support to its officers and members. The national chairperson is often involved in revising or constructing mission statements, policies or procedures and directs the efforts of the committee or organization. The national chairperson is also responsible for representing the organization at meetings, conventions, community events, charity functions and private speaking engagements.
