When is National Veterans Awareness Week?

National Veterans Awareness Week takes place during the week of November that holds November 11, which is Veterans Day. Congress designated this week for educational programs to help promote the military.

National Veterans Awareness Week celebrates military members and the sacrifices that they have made and continue to make in order to protect the United States. The educational programs are all geared towards elementary and secondary students. Congress encourages schools to create informative educational programs for students to teach them about the value of veterans and the military out of a concern that young people are not familiar with the military's accomplishments.
