Does the National Weather Service provide rain totals by ZIP code?

The National Weather Service, in conjunction with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, provides a historical precipitation report that is categorized by ZIP code. This database does not list rainfall totals for each ZIP code individually, but it offers a search option instead.

After a ZIP code is entered into the search field, a map is displayed of the selected location, along with a color overlay that shows how much rain has occurred in that area in a given time period. The time period selected below the map may be changed to see a historical record of rainfall over a number of selectable periods including one day, one week, one month and the entire year to date.
