What are some natural woodpecker repellents?

Natural repellents to keep woodpeckers away from a home include plastic molds of owls or hawks hung in a variety of locations or plastic snake molds. Woodpeckers are often afraid of loud noises or sounds, so a music player attached to a motion light may work as a natural repellent.
Home owners can also hang strips of aluminum foil on areas of the house where a woodpecker has damaged or visits often. An aluminum foil pan can be hung, as well, because it reflects the sunlight and scares away woodpeckers. Covering the home with netting attached with L-shaped hooks can also prevent woodpeckers from making contact with the siding or wood boards.
