To register a car, Georgia residents must present a valid Georgia driver's license or identification card, Georgia form MV-1 Title/Tag Application, and proof of ownership. Acceptable documents to prove ownership include the car's original title, a manufacturer's certificate of origin, or, for cars from a non-title state, a registration certificate.
Owners presenting registration certificates from states that do not use titles must also present Georgia form T-22B. This form must be filled out by an approved agent of the state of Georgia, and certifies that the registrant is the legal owner of the car, and that the car has not been marked as stolen.
