Do I need homemade pool chemicals?
By Forinfos - 26/02/2025 - 0 comments
Pools need to be maintained with chemicals purchased in a store or with chemicals made from household cleaning products. Without proper maintenance pools turn green and fill with algae, attract insects and become unsanitary to swim in. Homemade pool cleaners are very inexpensive and easy to use.
According to Thrifty Fun, baking soda can be used to increase a pool's alkalinity levels just as effectively as an expensive option from a store. Common household bleach is used to shock the pool, muriatic acid can be used to lower alkalinity levels, and borax can be used to raise the pH level. Always check how much of each product should be used before using them in a swimming pool.
