What do I need to major in if I want to be a pediatrician?

Aspiring pediatricians can major in any subject. The important thing is to have classes in English, biology, chemistry, math, social sciences, humanities and physics. Volunteer work at clinics or other medical settings also helps gain admission to medical school.
Most medical schools require two years of biology, half a year of calculus or statistics, one year of chemistry, one year of inorganic chemistry and one year of English. Including these classes as part of a major is not a factor in admission. Aspiring pediatricians should major in something they enjoy and can succeed in, rather than a major meant only for medical school admission.
