What do you need to make spiced nuts?

To make simple spiced nuts, add 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin and 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper to 2 tablespoons of melted butter or margarine and mix well. Pour the mixture over 10 ounces of mixed nuts, stir to coat and bake at 375 F for seven to 10 minutes.

To create sweeter spiced nuts, beat 1 egg white with 1 tablespoon of water and stir in 3 cups of pecan halves. In a separate bowl, stir together 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves and 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg.

Sprinkle spice mixture over moistened nuts and spread on a foil-lined baking sheet. Bake the nuts at 350 F for approximately 30 minutes, stirring often to prevent scorching.
