What do you feed crickets?

Crickets kept as pets or food sources for other animals should eat a diet rich in leafy greens, fruit, vegetables or even pre-packaged cricket foods. Crickets are omnivores, meaning they eat both plant and animal matter, and some even eat other crickets if their food supply is low.
Crickets are often used as a food source for other exotic pets, such as lizards or frogs. As such, it is a good idea to feed only healthy foods to these crickets in order to pass on the nutrition benefits to the exotic pet. If cricket food is not available, and fresh fruit or vegetables aren't practical, dry cat food can also be used as a food source.
