Do you need a partner to play bid euchre?

Bid euchre is played by two teams of two players, so partners are required. During play, it is possible for a single player to opt to play a hand alone, in which case the partner sits out for the round.

Bid euchre is a version of standard euchre, which is a card game traditionally playedwith 24 cards. Players take turns trying to play a higher ranking card than their opponent. The player with the highest ranked card wins the round, or trick. The team with the most number of tricks wins the game. In bid euchre, players bid on the number of tricks they think they will win.
