As of 2015, the renewal frequency of a disabled parking placard in Florida is every four years, and the placard expires on the owner's birthday. When renewing a disabled parking placard, individuals must submit Form HSMV 83039, which a physician must sign within the past 12 months.
Organizations that offer frequent transportation to individuals who have disabilities are also issued four-year disabled parking placards to display in each vehicle. The expiration date for disabled parking placards issued to organizations is June 30.
The state of Florida sends a renewal notice in the mail to remind each individual and organization of upcoming expiration dates for disabled parking placards.
