The Discovery Channel produces and airs the television show: "Alaska: The Last Frontier." The show debuted in 2011 and, as of August 2015, has aired for four seasons.

"Alaska: The Last Frontier" focuses on the lives of the Kilcher family. The Kilchers, relatives of Grammy-nominated singer Jewel, live outside of the small town of Homer. The family took root in Alaska when Jules Kilcher fled Nazi Germany in the early 1940s and settled near the Kachemack Bay. Jules' original 160-acre homestead has since grown to over 600 acres. Two of Jules' sons, Otto and Atz, who is Jewel's father, star in the show.
