How do you find your network's SSID?

A network's SSID is located on the network device's label, which is generally located at the bottom of the device or on its sides. For a device already connected to a computer, the SSID displays as the name of the network on the device's administration panel.

The SSID of a network is also located using an 802.11 analysis tool. This, however, highlights a security vulnerability of SSID, since hackers can sniff out SSID frames and get through the network even when SSID broadcasting is not on. Owners generally secure routers with a combination of an SSID and a security key such as WPA-2, which acts as a password for the device.
