How do you find your network's IP address?

The process to find a network's IP address depends on the operating system, according to the Computer World website. When searching for the IP address, Windows devices refer to the router address as the "Default Gateway," whereas Apple devices refer to it as "Router."
To find the address on Windows 7 and 8:
- Click Start
- Search
Open the command box by clicking on "Start" and typing "cmd." Click on cmd.exe.
Type "ipconfig" and press Enter. The Default Gateway is the router's IP address.
To find the address on Mac OS X:
- Click the Apple Menu
- Click Wi-Fi
Click on "Apple Menu," "System Preferences" and "Network."
Click on "Wi-Fi" and "Advanced" to view the hardware address.
