What are the neurons that carry impulses toward the spinal cord and brain?

Sensory neurons are the nerve cells which carry information from outside stimuli to the central nervous system, which includes the spinal cord and brain. They are one of the three broad groups of neurons.
The other two groups are motor neurons and interneurons. Interneurons are found in the central nervous system and relay information from the sensory neurons to the motor neurons. Both motor neurons and sensory neurons are found in the peripheral nervous system, the network of nerves that travels throughout the body. While sensory neurons relay signals to the brain, motor neurons carry messages from the brain to the rest of the body.
