As of 2015, the New Life Church is not a denomination church; it classifies itself as a non-denominational church that is based on the Nicene Creed as its statement of faith. The New Life Church is an Evangelical Christian establishment and is host to three congregations throughout the week.

The New Life Church was founded by pastor Ted Haggard in 1984. Haggard stepped down as the church's pastor in 2006 following accusations of immoral acts and drug use. Brady Boyd became the New Life Church's senior pastor in 2007 following a period of service at Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas.
