Going into the 2015 season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the longest losing streak in National Football League history at 26 games. The Buccaneers, who entered the NFL in 1976 as an expansion team along with the Seattle Seahawks, lost the first 26 games that they played. The Buccaneers finally won their first game on December 11, 1977 when they defeated the New Orleans Saints on the road.
Although the Buccaneers have won a Super Bowl, defeating the Oakland Raiders 48 to 21 in Super Bowl XXXVII, the franchise has spent more time losing than winning since its inception. As of 2014, the team has only been to the playoffs 10 times and only won their division six times.
