The slogan, "Just Do It," was proposed by the advertising agency of Wieden+Kennedy and was based off the last words of Gary Gilmore. Gilmore was a killer who was executed in Utah in 1977; he uttered "Let's do it" before he was shot. As of 2015, the "Just Do It" slogan has been used in various Nike advertisements and merchandise.
