Is nitrogen dangerous?

When used in these ways, the chemical vaporizes into a gas that is harmless. While liquid nitrogen is dangerous if consumed, nitrogen gas is not. Nitrogen gas makes up more than 78 percent of the air humans breathe, and compounds that include nitrogen are necessary for some plants.
