Is nitrous oxide flammable?

Nitrous oxide is not flammable, but in a fire, it accelerates the burning of combustible material. It is a colorless gas that is sweet-tasting and water-soluble. Nitrous oxide is also known as laughing gas.
Nitrous oxide's vapors are heavier than air. If a container of nitrous oxide is exposed to prolonged heat or fire, it may cause the container to rupture violently and rocket. If nitrous oxide is inhaled, it works as an intense pain reliever. If nitrous oxide's concentration is over 40 to 60 percent, it can cause hysteria and loss of consciousness. If nitrous oxide liquid comes in contact with eyes or skin, it causes a frostbite burn.
