What is the normal range of troponin levels?

A normal troponin level in the blood is so low that it is not detectable, according to MedlinePlus. The normal troponin value varies depending on the laboratory, measurements and samples used. It's best for patients to discuss results with a doctor.
Troponin levels usually rise within six to 12 hours after a heart attack occurs, states MedlinePlus. Other reasons for an elevated troponin level include fast heart rate, high blood pressure in the lungs, congestive heart failure, inflammation of the heart muscle and coronary artery spasm. Certain medical procedures may also increase troponin levels, including cardioversion, cardiac ablation, coronary angioplasty or stenting, and open heart surgery.
