Is Norton or McAfee better for protecting my computer?

According to PC Magazine, the 2014 version of Norton Internet Security is better than McAfee Internet Security 2014. PC Magazine gave Norton four-and-a-half stars, compared to just four for McAfee.

PC Magazine gave Norton its Editors' Choice award. Norton was praised for having all the essential features such as antivirus, firewall, anti-spam, parental control and phishing protection. McAfee received a positive review as well. The magazine said it did well in testing. McAfee solved installation problems and blocked malware. It also had a smart firewall and an accurate spam filter. However, it was criticized for being only average when cleaning up malware.
