What is the number you need to text to check your Green Dot card?

As of February 2015, to check your Green Dot card balance, send a text message to 43411 with BAL and the last four digits of the card number in the format BAL XXXX, states the Green Dot website. Green Dot responds with a text message of the available balance.

Green Dot recommends that card users store the 43411 code in their cellphone contacts so it is readily available for retrieving quick, up-to-date balance checks. Standard cellphone carriers' text messaging rates apply when checking balances in this manner. Green Dot allows users to track spending online or through the company's mobile app.
