Do nurse practitioners deliver babies?
By Forinfos - 19/04/2025 - 0 comments
Nurse practitioners are trained to deliver babies as well as other responsibilities, but generally they do not do so unless they are also a midwife. If a woman chooses to deliver in a hospital, the obstetrician or doctor on duty delivers the baby.
Nurse practitioners are able to treat patients without the supervision of a doctor, ruled by guidelines on what they can and cannot treat. If the hospital is full, nurse practitioners play a crucial role in helping administer medical attention to individuals in need, including women in labor. Their training reaches many aspects of health care, and delivery is among those aspects.
