What are some of the nursing programs offered by BOCES?

BOCES, the Boards of Cooperative Educational Services in New York, offers licensed practical nursing programs throughout the state. Successful completion of an LPN course of study prepares candidates to take the licensing exam for practical nursing, called the NCLEX-PN.

There are dozens of BOCES LPN programs throughout New York, so candidates should choose a program near them. The New York State Education Department provides a list of LPN programs. Most programs require candidates to pass an entrance exam, hold a high school diploma or GED, be at least 18 years old and hold CPR qualification, among other requirements. Degrees are usually completed in one or two years.
