Moringa leaves are a rich source of vitamins A, C and B. They also provide an excellent source of minerals such as iron, calcium and zinc. The pods and seeds contain oleic acid, a healthy, monounsaturated fat.
The leaves contain 252 percent of a person's recommended daily value of vitamin A and 235 percent of the recommended daily value of vitamin C. These high doses of antioxidants could make the leaves effective in strengthening the immune system.
Because of the moringa plant's iron content, it has been used for treating anemia. When taken by mouth, it has also been shown to increase breast milk production and relieve asthma symptoms, according to WebMD.
