What is Nystatin Cream USP?

Nystatin Cream USP is a prescription topical cream that is approved to treat fungal infections. It is used to treat candida, a type of fungus that is usually associated with yeast infections. It is also used to treat thrush and diaper rash.

To use this cream, users generally apply the cream directly to the affected area twice daily or until the affected area has healed. The cream is usually yellow.

Nystatin Cream does not treat bacteria, protozoa or viruses. The cream binds to ergosterol, a part of the fungal cell membrane. It weakens the cell membrane so that the fungal cells can be treated.
