What is Mometasone Furoate cream USP?

Mometasone furoate cream USP is a synthetic corticosteroid used topically as an anti-inflammatory. It treats swelling, itching and redness caused by eczema, allergies, psoriasis and other rashes. It also comes in the forms of an ointment and a lotion.

Mometasone furoate cream is only used on certain areas of the body and must not be used on the face, groin or underarms. Apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected area once a day or as directed by a physician. Unless the doctor instructs otherwise, do not cover the area with a dressing or bandage. Wash hands immediately after applying the medication, and keep the medication away from the eyes, nose and mouth.
