What is the object of the "Tetris" online game?

The goal of the classic game "Tetris" is to strategically arrange and place falling puzzle pieces, or Tetriminos, to clear lines and score as many points as possible. The player loses the game if the Terimino stack reaches the top of the game screen.

In "Tetris," the game presents the player with one of seven different Tetrimino shapes at a time to place within the Matrix. The goal is to move the pieces from left to right and rotate them as they fall, so the Tetriminos fit together to complete lines. When a line is complete, it clears from the Matrix, while lines that have empty spaces rise to the top of the Matrix. The Tetriminos fall faster as the levels progress.
