What do the official Monopoly rules say about going to jail?

The official Monopoly rules state that a player will go to jail when he rolls doubles three times, draws a "Go to Jail" card during game play, or lands on the space marked "Go to Jail." Once a player is sent to jail, his turn ends.
To get out of jail, according to the Monopoly rules, a player must roll doubles on one of his next three turns or use a "Get Out of Jail Free" card, which he may either have in his possession or purchase from another player. Barring either of these options, a player may also pay a $50 fine to get out of jail, but only during the beginning of his turn. Contrary to many house rules, the $50 fine is placed in the bank, not in the center of the board.
