Chemical products, power tools and heat can remove paint from wood. The chemicals may have to sit for a few hours in order to work. Always use a paint stripper in a well ventilated area. Sanders can also be used but take more effort. Use a large grit sandpaper to get the best results. If the painted piece is small, heat can be applied to loosen the paint. This might emit fumes so always wear a mask and glasses to prevent illness.
