To remove old marks from a dry erase board, use a paper towel and hand sanitizer. After cleaning the board with hand sanitizer, spray the board with water, and dry it with a paper towel.
- Clean the dry erase board with hand sanitizer
Squeeze hand sanitizer on a dry paper towel, and clean the entire surface of the dry erase board. Apply more hand sanitizer to the paper towel as needed, and continue cleaning.
- Spray the board with water
Spray the dry erase board with water, and use a clean paper towel to wipe away the residue. Use a dry paper towel or wash cloth to dry the board.
- Repeat the process
If ink remains on the board after cleaning, squeeze more hand sanitizer on a new paper towel, and repeat the cleaning process. The dry erase board should be free of marks and residue after a second cleaning.
- Use rubbing alcohol
If you don’t have hand sanitizer, rubbing alcohol also works. Use a cotton ball instead of a paper towel to absorb the rubbing alcohol. Clean the board with the rubbing alcohol, then spray with water, and dry with a paper towel. Repeat the process as needed to completely remove old marks from the board.
