As of 2015, the oldest active NFL quarterback is Peyton Manning. Manning is the quarterback for the Denver Broncos and has been in the NFL for 16 years. The oldest quarterback ever was George Blanda, who retired at the age of 48.
Manning began his career playing for Indianapolis Colts in 1998 until he was released in 2012. He suffered an injury in 2011, which doctors said should have ended his football career. This injury required him to have a spinal fusion surgery. Despite the surgery, Manning was determined to play. In 2012, he signed a contract with the Denver Broncos.
