As of 2014, the oldest quarterback in NFL history is George Blanda, who played between 1949 and 1975 until the age of 48. George Blanda began his NFL career as a 12th-round draft pick by the Chicago Bears; he stayed with the Bears until 1958.
Blanda's NFL career spanned 26 regular seasons and held the points record in professional football between 1971 and 2000 with 2,002 points scored. During his career, he was recognized as NFL MVP of the year and the AP Male Athlete of the Year in 1970 and was part of three AFL championship winning teams in the 1960, 1961 and 1967 seasons.
