The station used to be known as 105.7 The Walrus, with the slogan "San Diego's Greatest Hits," but the station was renamed MAX FM in August 2014. The station continues to play the oldies featured on The Walrus. Songs played cross many genres and include artists such as Elton John, Marvin Gaye, The Beatles, The Eagles, Billy Joel, The Bee Gees, The Jackson 5 and Neil Diamond.
