Are corgis suited for life in San Diego?

The cardigan Welsh corgi is well-suited for life in San Diego. According to the experts at Dogtime.com, the breed is one of the top five best-suited for hot weather, along with the greyhound, Sussex spaniel, pharaoh hound and canaan dog.
Dogs not suited to San Diego's tropical climate include those with thick, double coats that shed minimally. Those with shorter noses, like bulldogs and pugs, are also prone to overheating, as they are unable to pant as deeply in an effort to cool off. Such heat-sensitive breeds should be kept inside during hot, humid days and exercised in the morning and evening when temperatures are cooler.
