What does "OMR" mean in computer terms?
By Forinfos - 31/03/2026 - 0 comments
"OMR" stands for optical mark reader, which is a device that scans, checks and records the pencil marks on a form designed to be compatible with the device. Examples of applications for optical mark recognition technology include surveys, test questionnaires, response cards and ballots
An OMR device can process a large number of forms quickly and with a high level of accuracy. To facilitate the scanning and checking of the forms, the operator puts the cover scan form (the answer key, for example) on top of the stack and presses a key to begin scanning. The results of the checked forms can be easily saved as a file or printed.
