As of 2015, some free online matching games are "Candy Crush" and "Salazar the Alchemist" at GamesGames.com. Both of these games get progressively harder as the player masters one level and moves on to the next.

In "Candy Crush," the player matches three like pieces to crush them. However, when the player matches four or five like pieces, the pieces create a single piece that offers additional crushing power. Each level requires the player to accomplish different tasks.

"Salazar the Alchemist" asks the player to match three or more items to make a new item. The items do not need to be in the same row to make a match. This game features mushrooms, four-leaf clovers and skulls that turn into runes.
