How do you open a coconut?

To open a coconut, simply hit it with the blunt side of a knife along its natural line. You need a large knife and a bowl to catch the liquid as it drains. This process takes only a few minutes.

1. Locate the eyes of the coconut

   Find the dark spots that resemble eyes on the coconut. Between the eyes you will see a line that runs from the front to the back.

2. Hit the coconut on the line with the blunt side of a knife

   Using the back side of a large knife, hit the coconut along its line a few times until it cracks in half.

3. Catch the liquid in a bowl

   Hold the coconut over the bowl to catch the liquid that pours out when it opens.
