Does Orbit gum use rice paper for its gum wrappers?

Orbit gum does not use rice paper for its gum wrappers. Orbit's gum wrappers are made from food-grade wax paper, which is not meant to be consumed.
Some candies, especially Chinese and Japanese confections, come wrapped in an edible rice paper wrapping. However, Orbit gum is wrapped in regular food-grade paper. Most chewing gum sold in the United States uses regular food-grade paper, instead of rice paper, to package sticks of chewing gum individually. Consumers sometimes chew the regular paper, as some of the gum flavor transfers to the paper; however, Orbit discourages this. Since the wrapper is meant to keep each piece of gum fresh and clean, it should be thrown away.
