What is the orbital velocity of Uranus?
By Forinfos - 02/05/2025 - 0 comments
The average orbital velocity of the planet Uranus is 6.8 kilometers per second. Its fastest orbital velocity is at its closest approach to the sun, which is 7.1 kilometers per second. It slowest orbital speed, at its farthest point from the sun, is 6.5 kilometers per second.
To compare, Earth's average orbital velocity is 29.8 kilometers per second, or about 4.3 times faster than Uranus. As Earth is considerably closer to the sun, it requires a much greater velocity in order to maintain its orbit. At a distance of 1.7 billion miles from the sun, Uranus can get away with a much more languid speed.
