Do orchid flowers grow back?

Orchid flowers grow back very slowly, even under ideal conditions. Flower spikes develop with proper fertilization, light and water. The plant also needs cool night temperatures and proper pruning.
Fertilize orchids once a month. They need 12 hours of strong, indirect light each day. If the days are long and hot, water the plant every five days. If it is cooler, water less often. Exposing the orchid to four weeks of 55 degree temperatures at night helps stimulate new blooms. Remove the spent flower stems by cutting them above a node but below the lowest flower. A new flowering branch may grow from that point.
