The liver is the organ that is found mostly on the right side of the human body. It is the second-largest of the organs in the body and weighs about three pounds in an adult.
The liver is a mass of dark red tissue that is held in place by ligaments. Grooves divide the liver into four lobes.
One of the liver's functions is to detoxify the body and another is to aid in digestion. To that end, the liver produces bile, which helps to break down fats.
One lung, one kidney and parts of the organs of the gastrointestinal tract are also found on the right side of the body.
