7-Eleven is owned by Seven & I Holdings Co. and it is the fifth largest retailer in the world, with operations in 100 countries and over 35,000 stores. Seven & I is a Japanese company with headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, and its U.S. division is headquartered in Dallas, TX.
7-Eleven is the world's largest convenience store chain with shops in 16 countries. 7-Eleven was opened July 11, 1927, and used to operate from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. It was the first convenience store in the world to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and to sell fresh coffee in to-go cups.
